MICROCHANNELING IS MICRONEEDLING EVOLVED
How does ProCell Therapies Microchanneling achieve such Amazing Results with penetration at a depth of just 0.25mm and 0.5mm into the Skin?
Procell’s treatment protocol is based on the findings of Dr Lance Setterfield, M.D. in his publication The Concise Guide to Dermal Needling, Third Medical Edition.
Dr Setterfield has discovered a new non-ablative approach to skin rejuvenation, targeting the epidermis and dermal-epidermal junction, which is different from the dermis.
Over the years Dr Setterfield noted clinical improvements for patients using lesser depths of injury than is typically recommended by the industry. This piqued his curiosity and he began researching the possibilities that would explain the unexpected.
Targeting the dermal - epidermal Junction with treatment modalities may alleviate the signs of ageing optimally in the following ways:
- Targets keratinocytes to promote cell cross-talk, and gene expression that regulates melanocyte and fibroblast function (amongst other cells)
- Targets gene expression at the dermal-epidermal junction for the purpose of upregulation of collagens types IV, VII, and XVII (in addition to I and III) and other components of the dermal-epidermal junction to restore structure and adhesion
- Results in gene expression that downregulates matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), inflammatory growth factors, cytokines (thus playing a preventative role in premature ageing)
- Results in gene expression that upregulates anti-inflammatory growth factors and cytokines (thus resulting in normal collagen formation, as opposed to scar tissue collagen that forms in the presence of inflammation)
A less-is-best approach offers the benefits of reduction in downtime, reduced risk of side effects, and less pain (which will translate into greater compliance and better results)
ProCell Therapies ‘ winning Microchanneling system provides a much less invasive treatment compared to traditional microneedling. Surgical-grade steel filaments small enough to fit into hair follicles are used in Procell’s Microchanneling device, and as the penetration of needles stay within the epidermis and dermal-epidermal junction, there is minimal to no bleeding, and topical products have a higher likelihood to feed the skin with the necessary nutrients. One full face and neck treatment creates over two million microchannels to allow for immediate absorption while the skin is open.
Additionally, because of the device’s stamp-like precision,
the protocol does not call for a dragging action that may
lead to skin tears and more damage than what is necessary.
A tapping technique is used, creating less damage in the skin
but the body's repair cell production is the same. As a result,
this treatment is more widely available to a majority of skin
conditions and suitable for all Fitzpatrick type.
